Admission Requirements
General Notes
- The JD program requires 84 credits and is completed in three years.
- Students completing the joint degree program earn both a JD and master's degree in three years and one summer.
- The best way to apply is electronically via LSAC.
- Duke Law School requires that foreign transcripts also be submitted through the LSAC JD Credential Assembly Service (JD CAS).

No cut-off GPA is listed.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
- All applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
- Provide the dates you sat or will sit for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
- All applicants must take the LSAT no later than December 2007.
- All scores are reviewed; greater weight may be put on higher scores.
- If a score does not reflect your true ability, you may provide in an explanation in a separate attachment.
