Admission Requirements
General
- Department admits applicants presuming that they will continue onwards to a PhD degree
- Online application available at: www.uoguelph.ca/graduatestudies/
Academic Requirements
- BSc or BA Honours in Psychology or a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Neuroscience, etc.)
- Minimum B+ average over the last 2 years of undergraduate study
- Applicants should have taken a broad range of psychology courses, including some in their desired field of specialization
- Applicants should also have a strong background in methodology and statistics as well as having completed an honours thesis or research project
Financial Requirements
- Annual sub-total for full-time domestic students: $6,491.00 (includes tuition and compulsory fees such as Dental Plan, Drug Plan, Athletic fee, etc.)
- Estimated annual cost of living for domestic students: $18,091.00 to $23,066.00 (includes sub-total from above and cost of living expenses)
- Limited financial support exists as graduate assistantships and scholarships

- Hard copy of the online application, to be mailed to the department’s Admissions Secretary
- Statement of Research Interest and Career/Graduate Study Goals
- 2 letters of reference
- 1 certified copy of each previous undergraduate and/or graduate transcript
- Department of Psychology’s Graduate Studies Admissions Questionnaire
- CV/resume
- Applicants to Clinical Psychology must also forward a “Supplemental Letter of Recommendation” to those referees who can assess the applicant’s clinical skills (to be included with the normal letter(s) of recommendation)
- GRE General Exam scores, forwarded directly to the Graduate Secretary
- GRE Psychology subject test required for all except Neuroscience & Applied Cognitive Science
- Application fee of $85
- Proof of English Proficiency (if not a Canadian Citizen): TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, CAEL scores are accepted
Other
- Applications will be considered for admission at the end of January
- Fields of research: Applied Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology: Applied Developmental Emphasis, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Neuroscience & Applied Cognitive Science

- No winter or summer entry is permitted
