Program Information

  • Areas of Study:
    • Applied Social Psychology (AS)
    • Neuroscience & Applied Cognitive Science (NACS)
    • Clinical Psychology: Applied Developmental Emphasis (CP:ADE)
    • Industrial/Organizational Psychology (I/O)
  • Length of Program:
    • Master's: 6 semesters
    • Doctoral: 9-12 semesters
  • Students are admitted based on the expectation that they intend to proceed to obtain a Doctoral degree upon completion of the Master's degree

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree:
    • Master's: Honours BSc or BA in psychology or its allied fields such as computer science or neuroscience
    • Doctoral: Master's Degree
  • Applicants should have taken a broad range of psychology courses, including some in their desired field of specialization
  • Applicants should also have a strong background in methodology and statistics as well as having completed an honours thesis or research project

  • MA: minimum B+ standing
  • PhD: minimum A- standing

GRE

  • Requirements vary depending on area of study
  • NACS: No GRE required
  • AS, I/O, CP:ADE: Both general and psychology subject GRE scores are required for the MA program

  • OUAC online application found here
  • Application fee: $100 CDN
  • One copy of Official Transcript per university attended
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Minimum of two letters of reference from academic referees
    • Applicants to CP:ADE must submit the Supplemental Letter of Recommendation form found here
  • Graduate Studies Admission Questionnaire indicating research interests, potential supervisors, and previous research work and volunteering experiences
  • GRE scores
  • TOEFL scores for international applicants; requirements can be found here
