Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Master’s Program
- bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology or related areas
- Students who completed the bachelor’s degree in a country other than Canada are required to have an MSc degree in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology or in a related subject area
- Required Courses
- Introductory survey courses in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BIOL200 (3 credits) and BIOC212 (3 credits) or BIOL201 (3 credits))
- Two advanced courses in biochemistry (BIOC311, 312 (6 credits) or equivalent)
- Doctor’s Program
- Master’s degree or equivalent

- Minimum GPA: 3.3 during the last two years of study

GRE
- International students require GRE General and GRE Subject (Biochemistry)
- Minimum rank around 80th percentile
- Outstanding applicants may have this requirement waived upon request
- TOEFL scores are required
- Minimum paper-based – 580 / TWE 5
- Minimum computer-based – 237 / Essay rating 5
- Minimum internet-based – 93 / Writing 22, Speaking 22
- Waived if language of instruction is English
