Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • M.Sc. Program
    • Degree: Honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • M.A.Sc. Program
    • Degree: Honours Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Ph.D. Program
    • Degree: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.

GPA

  • Master’s Programs
    • Minimum: “B+” average over the last two years of university studies
    • M.Sc.: Admitted candidates must have completed a senior-level course related to theoretical computer science or equivalent.
    • M.A.Sc.: Admitted candidates must have completed a senior-level project course/thesis in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Ph.D. Program
  • Minimum: “B+” average in all coursework

    • TOEFL: Internet-based test: 90

    • York English Language Test (YELT): Band of 4
