Admission Requirements
General
- Apply online at http://www.yorku.ca/web/futurestudents/graduate/apply_now/
- Application fee of $80
- Approximately 40 new students are admitted each year
- Applicants are expected to specify the areas that are of primary and secondary interest to them
Academic Requirements
- Masters of Arts Program: Honours degree in Psychology (or its equivalent, with at least 8 full courses in psychology)
- Honours degree equivalent for students not applying to the Clinical Area should include:
- One full-course in Introductory Psychology
- One full or two half-courses from the following: Child Psychology, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theory and Behaviour Disorders, Theories of Personality
- One full-course in Research Design and Statistical Analysis</li>
- One full or two half-courses in Experimental Psychology: Cognitive Processes, Learning, Motivation, Perception, Physiological Psychology
- Four other full psychology courses or the equivalent
- Honours degree equivalent for students applying to the Clinical Area should include:
- One full-course in Introductory Psychology
- One full-course in Research Design and Statistical Analysis
- Equivalent of six other full-courses in psychology (one full-course or two half-courses in each of the following core content areas are acceptable: biological basis of behaviour, cognitive-affective bases of behaviour, social bases of behaviour and individual behaviour)
- Minimum B+ grade point average based on last two years of study
Financial Requirements
- Domestic student annual tuition fee: $5,441.22
- International student annual tuition fee: $11,928.99

- Streams and specializations: Brain, Behaviour and Cognitive Science; Clinical Psychology; Clinical-Developmental Psychology; Developmental and Cognitive Processes; History and Theory of Psychology; Social and Personality Psychology
- Applicants must submit official scores from the GRE (General Test and Subject Test in Psychology) for the Clinical and Clinical-Developmental Areas
- Applicants to the other areas must submit scores from the GRE General Test only
