Admission Requirements

General Notes

  • Minimum of one full year of university or university course equivalents is required before application
  • Degree holders will be evaluated on par with undergraduates
  • CEGEP courses may be used to fulfill all requirements, but preference will be given to those students with at least one full year of university

Criteria

Required classes

  • One year physics, biology, chemistry, calculus and humanities or social sciences
  • High school grade 12 credit English (credit from the old Ontario curriculum is not acceptable) or university-level English

GPA

  • cGPA of 70% (B- average at University of Toronto)
  • Average is calculated using all courses taken at the university level, including repeated courses and graduate level courses
  • Average for final selections is ~74% (mid-B range)
  • Letter grades are converted to percentages

UTPAT: University of Toronto Pharmacy Admissions Test

  • Non-academic assessment criteria: personal qualities, skills, attributes and perspectives; ability to read, think and write effectively
  • Consists of a multiple-choice test section as well as one or more written components
  • Written components may be short answer or essay style
  • Must be completed the year of application, previous tests are not valid
  • No PCAT required, only the UTPAT

Deadlines

  • January 11: 2008 online application submission
  • January 31: submission of transcript of grades from previous academic year of study online
  • March 29: 2008 UTPAT must be written at one of the designated testing centers on this day
  • June 13: submission of final transcript including all final grades for the current year

Tuition

  • Expected academic and incidental fees: approximately $11,166.98 per year for Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents
  • For international students: approximately $22,567.98 per year, including compulsory University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) fee of $684.00

Statistics

  • 10% of students out of 240 are accepted from outside the province of Ontario
  • 2005-2006 average entering cGPA: A-
  • Final selection pool average: 77-79%
