Admission Requirements
General Notes
- Six year program leading to a Pharm.D.
- Two years coursework, 4 years professional curriculum
- Texas applicants are given preference (maximum of 10% out-of-state applicants are admitted)

Criteria
Required classes
- Completion of undergraduate degree not required but is encouraged
- Minimum grade of C for all required courses
- Biology
- 3 semester credits in cellular and molecular biology
- 3 semester credits in structure and function of organism
- 3 semester credits in genetics
- 4 semester credits in microbiology
- Chemistry
- 8 semester credits in general inorganic chemistry with lab
- 8 semester credits in organic chemistry with lab
- English
- 3 semester credits in composition
- 3 semester credits in literature
- Math
- 3 semester credits in calculus (differential and integral)
- 3 semester credits in statistics
- 4 semester credits in physics with lab
- Foreign language
- must complete two years of high school study or two semesters of post-secondary study

GPA
- Minimum GPA for consideration is 2.0
- 90% of admitted students have a 3.0 or higher
- 50% of admitted students have a 3.5 or higher

PCAT
- Scores must be no more than 3 years old
- Most recent score is considered
- Must arrange to have scores sent direction to U of T Austin
- Applicant should have a composite score of at least 70%

- Must first apply direction to University of Texas Austin online at http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/transfer.html
- Apply as a Transfer/Transient student
- Apply to College of Natural Sciences as an undergraduate pre-pharmacy major
- Once application to the University has been processed, applicants must apply to the College of Pharmacy online at http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/transfer.html
- Will be required to submit two 400 word essays (see above link for questions)
- Must submit expanded resume including academic experience, work experience, extracurricular activities, volunteer/community service activities and honours or awards

Interviews
- Approximately 30 minutes with a faculty member and possibly a student
- Interviews take place in the spring

- October 1st, 2008 – Application becomes available online
- February 1st 2009 – Deadline for application submission
- August 15, 2009 – Deadline for submission of updated transcript
Tuition
- For residents of Texas completing 15 hours of study, 4 595 USD per semester
- For a non-resident of Texas completing 15 hours of study, 10 152 USD per semester
