Course and Degree Requirements

• Degree: Must have completed at least 30 credit units of course work at the university level before April 30 of the year in which they are applying(any discipline)
• Required Courses
  • Life Sciences (3 credits)
  • General Chemistry (3 credits)
  • Introduction to Organic Chemistry(3 credits)
  • Literature or Composition(3 credits)
  • 12 credits in humanities, social sciences or fine arts, of which 6 credits must include psychology, sociology, philosophy or native studies

  • Admission average is based on the 30 credit units of required subjects (weighted as 40% of the overall average) and the cumulative average obtained at the university level (weighted as 60% of the overall admission average)

Test of Critical Skills and Personal Profile

• Test of Critical Skills (1 hour duration): applicants are asked to write a formal, persuasive academic essay in response to a proposition drawn from a short reading
• Test is administered usually at the end of March and applicants are required to attain a minimum level of achievement on the test regardless of performance on other criteria
• A seminar is usually held in early March to help applicants improve critical skills and understand the nature of the test
• Personal Profile (1 hour duration): analogous to a written interview; candidates should be prepared to discuss why they have chosen pharmacy and how they perceive the role of the pharmacist
