- 3 years in length (excluding the first year Health Sciences program) for Alternate entry program
- 4 years total including the first year Health Sciences program
- Number of international spots open: 8 spots
- International graduate-entry applicants are in the same pool as the other international applicants who have finished first year Health Sciences program at university of Otago

Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: a degree from a recognized out-of-country university
- Required Courses
- For all persons applying under the ‘Alternative entry’ will be required to complete, to have completed or to be exempted from the papers (courses) prescribed for the Health Sciences First Year course with acceptable grades
- Following are courses from the university of Otago. Applicant should look for a possible equivalent at McGill University
- BIOC192 (Foundations of Biochemistry)
- CELS191 (Cell and Molecular Biology)
- CHEM191 (Chemical basis of biology and human health)
- HUBS191 (Human body systems 1)
- HUBS192 (Human body systems 2)
- HEAL192 (Foundations of Epidemiology)
- PHSI191 (Biological Physics)
- For international students, equivalents of these must be talked over with the International Office
