Program Information
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Pharmacy)
- 4 years in length + 1 year of university pre-requisite courses (U1 can be done at other universities – click here for details)
- Number of applications for September 2012: 301
- Class size in 2012: 55
- Average AGPA = 3.74 – 4.43
- Priority is given to residents of Manitoba or students who attended a university in Manitoba. In fact, in the past 15 years, out-of-province applicants were not accepted. International students are not considered.
- Graduate studies in pharmacy are also available
Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Degree: Minimum 30 credit hours of undergraduate study with no grade less than C
- Required Courses
- Chemistry (6 credits)
- Biology (6 credits)
- Mathematics (3 credits)
- Arts electives (6 credits)
- 3 credits of 6 must satisfy the written English requirement
- Open electives (9 credits)
- Must have completed at least one regular session (September – April) with a minimum of 24 credit hours
- This includes applicants who have completed some of the required courses through AP or IB programs.

GPA
- Minimum Adjusted GPA (AGPA): 3.50
- Calculation of the AGPA:
- (0.4 x core course average) + (0.6 x cumulative GPA)
- Cumulative GPA is based on all courses completed at the university level, including repeated courses
- If a core course has been repeated once, the higher grade will be used. If more than once, the original grade is used.

Supporting Documents
- Essay/problem solving component written at the University of Manitoba
- Minimum grade of 15 out of 30 is required for consideration
- AGPA is considered with 70% weight, while essay component is considered with 30% weight
- Official transcripts must be submitted to the enrolment services/admissions office as the year finishes

- Must meet English Proficiency standards for applicants whose primary language is not English.
