Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree or equivalent from a recognized academic institution
    • Preference given to students with a background in science, especially biological sciences
  • Minimum cGPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (B+) within the two most recent years of full-time studies

  • Preliminary Application for Supervision
  • GRE not required
  • Official transcripts and degree certificate from previous university work

Other Requirements

  • Applicants with degrees in non-English languages may need to demonstrate English language proficiency
    • TOEFL:
      • Internet based test: 100 (at least 20 in each component)
      • Paper based test: 600
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5 (at least 5 on each band)
    • CAEL: minimum score of 60 (at least 60 on each subset)
    • MELAB: minimum score of 85

  • Additional budget of $1000 for thesis preparation costs

    • International Student - $19000
