Academic Requirements

  • Master’s
    • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equilvant
  • Doctorate
    • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent
  • Canada and United States:
    • Minimum GPA or 3.0 on 4.0 scale, or B on most letter grading systems
    • Calculated from the most recent 2 years of course work
  • United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand:
    • upper second class honours degree
  • Other countries:
    • consult the Minimum Academic Requirements by Country information here
  • English Language Proficiency Requirement:
    • Applicants with degrees/qualifications from certain countries or universities are exempt from the English language requirements. See the exemptions list here
    • If your institution isn't on the exemption list but the medium of instruction is in English, a letter from the institute indicating the medium of instruction is in English is required, OR the following scores are accepted:
      • TOEFL iBT (88 total score, minimum 20 per section)
      • PTE Academic (59 overall score)
      • IELTS (6.5 overall band score, minimum 5.5 per section)
      • MELAB (85 total score)
      • CAEL (60 total score, minimum 60 each subtest)
