Course and Degree Requirements

  • Master’s
    • Degree: Bachelor of Science (BSc)
    • Applicants should have a solid educational background in the areas of physical and biological sciences.

  • Doctorate
    • Degree: Either one of the following:
      • Master’s degree in Microbiology & Immunology
      • Master’s degree in Biochemistry
      • Master’s degree in a biological science
      • A highly qualified student in the departmental MSc program

  • Minimum CGPA: 3.2 out of 4.0

  • The GRE is not necessary although it is recommended.

Supporting Documents

  • Online application form
  • 2 letters of reference from academic or professional employers who can make a judgement regarding the applicant’s abilities.
  • 2 official transcripts from all universities attended; transcripts in a foreign language must be translated into English or French by the institution or a certified translator
  • The Supervisor Confirmation Form
  • Proof of proficiency in English: for all applicants whose mother tongue is not English
    • TOEFL: 86 (no less than 20 in each of the 4 component scores) for iBT and 567 for PBT
    • IELTS: band score of 6.5 or greater
