    • Degree: Either one of the following:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology & Immunology
      • Bachelor’s degree in Biology
      • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry
      • Bachelor’s degree in a related domain to the above degrees
      • Doctorate in Medicine (MD)
      • Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS)
      • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
    • Required Courses
      • Immunology
      • Microbial Physiology and Genetics
      • Virology

Supporting Documents

  • Application form
  • 2 letters of reference from academic or professional employers who can make a judgement regarding the applicant’s abilities.
  • 2 official transcripts from all universities attended; transcripts in a foreign language must be translated into English or French by the institution or a certified translator
  • Letter from a prospective supervisor: A letter from a research supervisor that the student chooses from the Departmental faculty. Applicants must not forget to include 3 – 5 top supervisor choices on their application.
  • A 6-page outline for a PhD proposal research project a week before seminar presentations (Only for students transferring from MSc to PhD). It must include the nature and hypotheses of the project and any progress made from the year before. For more info click here
  • Proof of proficiency in English: for all applicants whose mother tongue is not English
    • TOEFL: 95 (no less than 20 in each of the 4 component scores) – iBT and 575 for PBT
    • IELTS: band score of 7 or greater
