Course and Degree Requirements

Required Courses

• 1st Year:
  • English Composition or Writing Intensive Courses (full year)
  • Biology (or Zoology) I and II with labs
  • General Chemistry I and II with labs

• 2nd Year:
  • One Semester of Organic Chemistry
  • General Physics I and II with labs

• 3rd Year:
  • Biochemistry (half-year; lab recommended, but not required; 4 semester credits)
  • One Semester in an Advanced Life Sciences Course

• Only the Verbal score and the Quantitative score
• Scores cannot be more than 5 years old

• 25% Overall GPA
• 25% GRE (verbal and quantitative) or MCAT
• 5% Quality of Academic Program
• 20% Animal/Veterinary/Biomedical Experience (supported with letters of evaluation)
• 10% Non-Cognitive Skills
• 10% All Other Achievements and Letters of Evaluation
• 5% Personal Statement

Timeline 2015-2016

• September 15: VMCAS Application Deadline
• September 30: Cornell Supplemental Application Deadline
• January 2016: Decision Letters available electronically (notification via email)
• February 1st: recommended filing for Financial Aid
• March 15th: Dean's Certification due for all admitted students and alternates
• April 15th: Enrollment decisions and $500 deposit due from admitted students
• June 15th: Official final transcripts due for all students in the incoming Class of 2020
