Admissions Requirements

General

Academic Requirements

  • Graduate with an Honours degree.
  • Student must be recommended by the department you plan to study in.
  • The candidate must have completed courses worth 12 half-credits (36 credits) that include the following topics:
    • data structures/file management
    • operating systems
    • computer architecture
    • algorithm design and analysis
    • assembly language
    • 2 high-level languages
  • The candidate must have completed courses worth 8 half-credits (24 credits) that include the following topics:
    • Calculus
    • linear algebra
    • algebraic structures or discrete mathematics
    • probability and statistics
    • numerical analysis
  • Applicants who lack the required courses may be admitted to a qualifying-year program.
  • Must prove English language proficiency.
    • Your first language is English, OR
    • You completed your undergraduate study at an English speaking university OR
    • TOEFL: paper based: 550, computed based: 213; web-based: 86

Financial Requirements

  • Tuition fees for one year for Canadians: $4621.71
  • International tuition fees: $10839.71

Supporting Documents

  • 2 copies of your transcript (sealed official institution envelope, signed on the flap officially)
  • Complete supplementary program information
  • 3 recommendation forms (sealed, signed on the flap)
  • Evidence of your Citizenship or permanent residence status
  • TOEFL or GRE test result ( original copies must be sent from the original source)

Deadlines

  • Fall 2007 (begins Sept. 1): Deadline is Aug. 31, 2007
  • Winter 2008 (begins Jan. 1): Deadline is December 14, 2007
  • Summer 2008 (begins May 1): Deadline is April 30, 2008
  • Fall 2008 (begins Sept. 1): Deadline is March 1, 2008
