General Notes:

• Applicants must apply electronically and submit the form to LSAC. • Approximately 170 students enroll each year. • Entire academic record, including SAT scores and GPA, are considered along with the other personal and biographical information. • Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended must be forwarded to LSAC, which will prepare and send the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) Report to Stanford. • In addition to the J.D. degree, Stanford Law offers 25 joint degrees, the Master of Laws (LLM) degree, the Stanford Program in International Legal Studies (SPILS), the Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD) degree, and the Master of Legal Studies (MLS) degree. Criteria Required classes • Must hold or expect to hold a bachelor's degree prior to September of the entry year GPA There are no minimum cut-offs for GPA.

Law School Admission Test (LSAT):

• All applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). • There are no minimum cutoff scores for the LSAT. • The December LSAT score is the last score accepted for Regular Decision applicants. • An LSAT score is considered valid for no longer than 5 years.

Supporting Documents: • Application for Admission – all applicants are required to complete it and send it electronically through LSAC. • Non-refundable application fee ($75) • Statement of Dean – official from applicant’s undergraduate university should send the completed form directly to the law school. • Resume – 1-2 pages, describing academic, extracurricular, and professional activities. • Personal statement – 2 pages, detailing important or unusual aspects of the application not apparent in the application. • 2 letters of recommendation – academic letters are stressed.

• Applicants can must apply electronically through LSDAS to Stanford Law School.
• Personal interviews are not included in the selection process.

• Applicants may start applying to the J.D. program on September 1st. • Last LSAT date that meets Regular Admission deadline: December 6th. • Regular Admission application deadline: February 1st, 2009. • Financial Aid deadline: March 15 • Notification letters mailed to accepted applicants on a rolling basis until April 30th.

Tuition:

• Tuition for 2008-2009 is $40,880. • Newly purchased books would cost about $1,770 a year. • Room and board costs approximately $17,100. • Total estimated budget is $64,118 for the school year.

• For the entering Class of 2010, 170 JD students enrolled in an application class of 4,000. • GPA range: 3.13-4.22 • LSAT range: 160-180
