Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- MSc program
- academic equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from UBC including one of the following:
- Minimum B+ average in last 2 years of study
- an A (80%) grade average in 12 credits of 3rd/4th years
- academic equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from UBC including one of the following:
- PhD program
- Masters degree or equivalent
- Overall average grade of B+ (76% at UBC)
- First-class bachelor’s degree with 1 year of MSc studies may be accepted (research potential needed)
- Students lacking necessary undergraduate preparation may be admitted into a qualifying year program
- Students with an overall A grade average in an honours bachelor’s degree may be accepted directly

September Admission:
- applications must be received in the Botany Department by February 1st
- Late applications may be considered
- Students should apply by end of December to be considered for entrance scholarships
January Admission:
- Possible with supervisor approval
