Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree or commendable completion of at least three-fourths (90 semester hours or 135 term credit hours) of the required credits for a baccalaureate degree
- The baccalaureate degree is preferred and preference is given to those candidates who will have earned the degree prior to matriculation in the medical school program
- Satisfactory completion, with a grade of C or higher, of the following college courses, including laboratory work:
- English Composition and/or Literature: 6 Semester Hours
- Chemistry: 13 Semester Hours
- Biochemistry (in addition to 13 hours of chemistry): 3 Semester Hours
- Physics: 8 Semester Hours
- Biological Sciences: 12 Semester Hours
- Genetics (in addition to 12 hours of biological sciences): 3 Semester Hours

- A physician (preferably an osteopathic physician)
- A science faculty member who is familiar with the applicant's academic work
- A premedical source (i.e. advisor's letter, a composite evaluation or evaluations from a committee)
- Supplemental documentation (for candidates with college credit at foreign institutions or non-U.S. citizens)
- Immunization records
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- Proof of personal health insurance

Interview
- Applicants are expected to have researched the history and philosophy of osteopathic medicine
- Conducted beginning in September and will continue on a rolling basis until the class is filled *Following the on-campus interview, the applicants file and recommendations from the interview team are reviewed by the Admissions Committee to determine acceptance, deferred action or denial

Timeline
- May: Contact all colleges and universities attended and have official transcripts forwarded directly from the educational institution to AACOMAS
- May: Submit AACOMAS application
- August: KCUMB's College of Osteopathic Medicine begins to review applications and send out invitations to qualified applicants to complete the secondary application
- Sept.: Personal interviews begin
- Feb. 1: Application deadline (AACOMAS); Secondary applications continue to be accepted and processed until all interview positions have been filled
- Feb. 15: Transcript deadline to AACOMAS
