Come out to hear about the impact of evolution on ecosystems and sustainability as part of SUS Academia Week 2018: Into the Future! It is now known, however, that substantial evolutionary change can occur on contemporary (or "ecological") time scales, meaning that species are both variable and evolvable. This "contemporary" (or "rapid") evolution can shape ecological dynamics at the population, community, and ecosystem levels. These influences then reverberate to important consequences for ecosystem services and sustainability. This talk will be given by Dr. Andrew Hendry from the Redpath Museum and Department of Biology at McGill (Instagram handle: hendryandrew This event will be held in the Leacock building room 219!
