Curriculum

Admission statistics

  • Total number of applicants each year: over 9,000
  • Class size in 2016: 129 (42 in-province, 87 out-of-province)
  • International students are not eligible to apply
    • Applications are accepted only from U.S. citizens and permanent residents as long as the undergraduate, premedical course work has been done in the United States or Canada and the MCAT has been or will be taken

Admissions Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: at least 90 undergraduate semester
  • Recommended Courses
    • Biology: Introductory biology, molecular/cell biology, genetics, anatomy, physiology, neuroscience
    • Chemistry: Inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry (with or without lab)
    • Physics: Introductory physics
    • Mathematics: Algebra, statistics
    • Psychology: Introductory psychology, behavioral psychology, abnormal psychology
    • Sociology: Introductory sociology, course work with special emphasis on health disparities
    • Humanities: foreign language (especially Spanish), philosophy (especially medical ethics), literature
