  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)

  • Preference to North Carolina residents; 20 non-residents accepted each year.

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
  • Required Courses:
    • General Biology including at least one course with lab
    • General Chemistry with lab
    • Organic Chemistry with lab
    • General Physics with lab
    • English
    • Behavioral or Social Sciences (Humanities, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Diversity, etc.)

  • Average GPA: 3.59 for the science GPA and 3.76 for non-science

  • Minimum score accepted: 25 (Old), 500 (New)
  • MCAT Written between 2014- 2016 Sep will only be accepted

  • Supplemental Application + non-refundable fee of $68 USD (supplemental application are emailed to qualified applicants considered for an interview)
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    • at least two letters of recommendation from professors who know you well and have taught you in a formal classroom setting. One of the two letters should be from a professor in your most recent major or degree-granting department, and the other may be from any professor of your choice.
  • Optional letters (no more than 3) may be submitted
