Program Information

Curriculum

• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
• 5 years in length

Admissions Requirements

• A level offer
  • A (Chemistry); A (Biology); A (third academic A level)
• Subject requirements
  • GCSEs in 9 separate subject areas
  • A score of 15 points or better from the nine, including
    • Core & Additional Science
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
  • Two points is the maximum score awarded in each subject area
  • Short course GCSE can receive half the points of a full GCSE
  • Two short courses can be offered in place of a full GCSE
  • A levels in three subjects taken at one sitting, usually after 2 years of study: at a minimum of AAA Chemistry and Biology are subject requirements at A2 level
• BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
  • Not accepted in lieu of A levels
• International Baccalaureate
  • 36 points to include 3 subjects at higher levels
    • At least 6 in Biology and Chemistry
    • At least 6 in one other subject
    • 3 further subjects at standard level, minimum of 5 points each
• European Baccalaureate
  • 84% average with no less than 84% in Chemistry and Biology

• Although 15 January is the UCAS application deadline for the majority of courses if you are a UK or EU student wishing to apply to the University for 2017 entry, applications may be accepted after this date.
• International students will need to apply by 30 June 2017
