Program Information

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • 4 years in length
  • Accepts up to 5 international or non Canadian permanent resident students per year.

Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 full or 30 half credits in any university program by the end of the academic year (September–April) in which application is made.

GPA

  • Minimum: None indicated by the University
  • Calculation method:
    • GPA will be based by first considering the cGPA for all years of undergraduate studies. However, if applicants do not meet this cut-off, the two most recent years will be considered.

MCAT

  • Minimum scores: None indicated by the University
  • Even though there is no restriction to the number of times a student has written the MCAT, all scores must be declared to OMSAS.
  • Only the best test results will be taken into consideration
  • As of May 2017, MCAT tests prior to 2015 are not accepted.

  • Autobiographical sketch – outline of experiences and achievements (with contact information)
  • References (must provide 3) – referees must write a narrative statement and complete a standardized form

  • A combined MMI and panel interview is used.

Timeline

  • September 15, 2016 (4:30p.m. EST) -- Deadline to create an OMSAS account
  • October 1, 2016 (4:30p.m. EST) -- Last date to submit OMSAS application; All transcripts and academic documents are to be recieved by OMSAS; All confdential assessment forms must be received by OMSAS, any application with missing reference letters will not be considered
  • November 1, 2016 -- Applicants must release their MCAT scores to OMSAS by this date.
  • May 9, 2017 -- Offers of admission will be made
  • June 30, 2017 -- Final transcripts must be received at OMSAS by this date.

Tuition 2017-2018

  • Total first year fees (Domestic student) - $26,826.82
  • Total first year fees (International student) - $87,256.66 (depending on when the applicant registered)
