Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 3 years of college study with Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1 year of college and all dental prerequisites completed in the U.S. or Canada
  • Required Courses
    • General Biology with lab: 2 semesters
    • General Chemistry with lab: 2 semesters
    • Organic Chemistry with lab: 2 semesters
    • Biochemistry: 1 semester
    • General Physics with lab: 2 semesters
    • English Composition: 2 semesters
  • Recommended Courses
    • Accounting, Anatomy, Business Management, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Ceramics, Communication, Genetics, Histology, Immunology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Religion, Sculpture, Statistics, Systems Physiology

  • Minimum: 2.7 (out of 4.0)
  • Recommended GPA to be competitive: 3.3 or higher (out of 4.0)
  • Average accepted GPA 2012 class:
    • Non-science average: 3.54
    • Science average: 3.26

  • Suggested competitive scores: 19 or above

  • Supplementary Application (emailed once AADSAS Application is received)
  • A formal interview (by invitation only)
  • minimum of 50 hours of dental practice observation/shadowing
