Program Information

Curriculum

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
  • 4 years in length
  • The program is divided into three phases:
    • Phase one: The first two years of medical school which focus on developing the fundamental science knowledge required.
    • Phase two: Development of clinical skills though training in broad clinical clerkships
    • Phase three: Emphasizes professional development activities, individualized career exploration and advanced clinical learning to prepare for residency.

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed 90 credit hours from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution
  • Applicants are also recommended to shadow a minimum of three physicians and participate in meaningful medical service-learning activities.
  • Required Courses
    • General Chemistry with minimum two hour lab - One full academic year
    • Organic Chemistry with minimum two hour lab - One full academic year
    • Biological Sciences with minimum two hour lab - One full academic year
    • Physics with minimum two hour lab - One full academic year
    • Biochemistry - One semester
    • Social Science- One course
    • Behavioral Science- One course

Interview

  • Interviews are conducted from August 2017 to March 2018
  • Each interview is conducted at the Indiana School of Medicine
  • On interview day, applicants will attend an information session and then undergo the interview

  • June 1, 2017-November 15, 2017: AMCAS application accepted
  • June 1, 2017-August 15, 2017: Early Decision Program application accepted
  • October 1, 2017: Early decision acceptance notification
  • August 2017 - November 2017: Interviews
  • October 15, 2017- March 15, 2018: Acceptance notification
  • January 2018 - March 2018: Final interview cycle
  • June 2018: All admission decision notifications will be issued
  • July 31, 2018: Final transcripts due
  • August: Orientation for new students
