Admissions Requirements
General Notes
- All applicants must register with LSDAS.
- Approximately 500 combined full-time and part-time students enroll each year. About 10, 000 apply each year.
- In addition to the 3-year J.D. program, George Washington Law offers a part-time four year J.D. program, the LL.M. (Masters of Law), an advanced degree for U.S. foreign-trained lawyers interested in an academic career, and the S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science), a research-centric degree doctorate requiring a prior law degree as well as the completion of a dissertation.

Criteria
Required classes
- Must hold or expect to hold a bachelor's degree prior to September of the entry year from regionally accredited university. In addition, applicants must have taken the LSATs within the past five years.
GPA
- There are no minimum cut-offs for GPA.
- See below for 2012-2013 average GPA.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
- All applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
- There are no minimum cutoff scores for the LSAT.
- The October LSAT score is the last score accepted for the Early Decision Plan.
- The Feburary LSAT score is the last score accepted for Regular Decision applicants.
- LSAT has to be taken within the past five years.
- If the LSAT is taken more than once, all scores will be evaluated, but the highest score will be weighted more.

Supporting Documents
- Application completed via LSAC.
- Personal statement and resume.
- Transcripts sent to CAS
- At least one letter of recommendation/evaluation submitted to CAS.
- Application form and application fee ($80) through LSAC
- Personal interviews are not included in the selection process.

Timeline 2012-2013
- October 1: First day J.D. regular and early decision applications accepted
- November 15: Transfer/visiting student deadline
- January 5: Deadline to submit early decision application.
- March 1: First-year J.D. application deadline.
- March 1: Early action transfer deadline
- May 10: Visiting student deadline
- June 15: Transfer/visiting student deadline

Tuition
- All are for 2011-2012 year.
- Tuition is $45,750 for full-time students.
- Total cost of attendance (including books, health insurance, room and board, etc.) is $74,400
- Tuition for part-time students is$32,170 (for 20 credit hours).
- Total cost of attendance for part time students is $60,450.
