• A 100 credits fulfilled at an accredited university
  • Required courses must be completed prior to matriculation
• Required Courses
  • Biology with Lab (6 credits)
  • General Chemistry with Lab (6 credits)
  • Organic Chemistry with Lab (6 credits)
  • Physics with Lab (6 credits)
  • Biochemistry highly recommended
• Credits earned through advanced placement programs are accepted
• A letter grade of C or better is required for these required courses

  • Applicants will be requested to complete the Secondary Application. This includes a supplemental questionnaire, letters of recommendation, a form to determine Virginia residency status.

Interview

• Once all documents have been received, candidates will be called for an interview
• Approximately 650 – 850 applicants are interviewed each year from September through March
• 30-45 minute interview with board consisting of a basic scientist, clinician and a medical student
