Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

Degree: Bachelor's degree required
Required Courses:

  • Quantitative Reasoning one course in calculus or statistics (biostatistics preferred)
  • Biology - two courses with a grade of B or higher, covering cell biology and genetics (lab experience is highly recommended)
  • Chemistry - two courses in general (inorganic) chemistry, one course in organic chemistry, and one course in biochemistry
  • Physics - two-course sequence covering mechanics, heat, electricity, optics, and radiation physics

Recommended Courses:

  • Writing While there is no specific course requirement, strong writing skills are expected. Courses that involve substantial expository writing (e.g., English, philosophy, history) can enhance writing skills.

  • Minimum: 3.0 (4.0 scale)
  • GPA Range of Class 2020: 3.13 - 4.0

MCAT

  • Minimum scores:
    • There are no minimum score requirement for application
  • New MCAT Median of class 2020: 513
  • Old MCAT Average:
    • Biological Sciences Test Average: 11.2
    • Physical Sciences Test Average: 11
    • Verbal Reasoning Test Average: 10.5
  • Composite scores range: 26 - 39
  • Latest test score date:since January 2014 (i.e., three years prior to 2017 matriculation).
