Program Information

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)
    • Concentrated on International Health
  • 4 years in length
  • Class size: 50
  • Applicants must have a valid passport from a country with “diplomatic” relations with Israel.
  • Upon graduating, students are licensed to practice in the U.S., not Israel.

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Required Courses
    • 1 year biology
    • 1 year physics
      • or one semester of physics, and one of math (stats or calc)
    • two years chemistry (with labs)
      • including 1 year of organic chemistry or biochemistry
  • fluency in English

  • Interviews can be conducted at Columbia University medical campus in New York or at Ben Gurion University in Israel

  • Applications are accepted in July 2017 and are accepted on a rolling basis
  • Ben-Gurion Global Health Scholarship: January 8, 2018
  • Priority consideration for other scholarships: January 31, 2018

Timeline

  • You will be notified that the school has received your application within 15 days of receiving your complete application
    • Email msihadmissions@post.bgu.ac.il if you haven't heard from them within 15 days
  • If chosen for an interview, you will be contacted within 30 days of submitting your application
  • If accepted, you must confirm your intention to enroll and submit a tuition deposit
  • Admission cannot be deferred
  • Applicants who are not accepted or who withdraw acceptance may reapply for admission only once
