Curriculum
The curriculum of the MChD is divided into two sections:
- Year one and year two: Each week the students are given a Problem Based Learning (PBL) study case included with tutorials, lectures, and a weekly clinical day. As well, all students engage in a research project.
- Year three and four: Students engage in clinical rotations, and given experience in the rural realm, as well as elective experiences.

Admission Requirements
- All applicants must have completed or be in their final year of a Bachelor's degree at the date of application.
- There is no preferred baccalaureate degree or prerequisite subjects
- The applicant's degree must be within ten years of the application date.
- Two-year accelerated bachelor degrees are accepted, but must be completed by the application date.
- ANU may provide a percentage bonus for applicants who complete a Honors, Masters of Research, or PhD.
GPA
- The university uses a weighed grade point average (wGPA) calculation.
- The calculation uses the last 3 years of the applicants most recently completed baccalaureate degree.
- The minimum required wGPA for interview consideration is 5.6
MCAT
- MCAT must have been written within 2 years of application deadline
- Applicants must achieve 125 in each section to be considered for an interview.

GAMSAT
- Graduate Australian Medical Schools Admission Test
- GAMSAT results are valid for only two years.
- A minimum overall result of 55 is required, with no less than 50 for each section.

- Either MCAT or GAMSAT is admitted for the application.
Supporting Documents
- Applicants must complete the Undergraduate Application form online
- Official transcript for your Bachelor degree and any post-baccalaureate degrees and graduate studies.
- Official MCAT or GAMSAT results
- Proof of English language proficiency (note: international students should be aware of the English requirements for internship registration in Australia, which requires a minimum of IELTS level 7 in all four components).

Interview
- Your GPA and MCAT/GAMSAT score will be weighted 50:50 to produce a ranked list of applicants. Interviews will be offered to applicants with a range of wGPA/MCAT/GAMSAT score combinations. A small bonus for completed postgraduate study, eg Graduate Diploma, Masters, PhD, will be added to the composite score.
- Applicants should be aware that meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee interview
- The interview takes place in July/August each year conducted via a Skype call.
- The interview consists of a wide range of topics and scenarios.
