- There are no minimum requirements specified by the University, but it is strongly recommended to have at least 3.0 out of 4.

GRE
- The GRE is required but there are no minimum scores specified by the University, however it is recommended to obtain at least:
- Verbal: 500
- Quantitative: 500
- Writing: 3.0
- In some cases, doing the MCAT may replace the GRE requirement.
- GRE should be completed by early December of the year prior to entering the program in Fall.

Supporting Documents
- Personal Statement of Purpose (500 – 1000 words) describing work experiences, academic interests and future goals.
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can properly assess the applicant’s academic competence and research potential.
- One of the letters must come from a faculty member of the last institution attended as a full-time student.
- More than three letters may be sent.
- Official transcript from previously attended universities.
- $ 100.00 Application fee
Other Requirements
- Proof of English proficiency if the applicant’s mother tongue is not English, unless the applicant received a Bachelor’s from a post-secondary institution in English. The applicant will to complete the following tests and need the following minimum scores:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
- Paper-based test: 600
- Computer-based test: 250
- TOEFL must be completed within 18 months of the application deadline.
- Test of Spoken English (TSE): Acceptable scores (none specified).
- The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may also be completed instead of the TOEFL and TSE.

Interview
- Occur in February 2019
- Interview is conducted by the Faculty associated to the Microbiology program.
- All expenses are paid by the University.
