Admission Requirements

Course and Degree Requirements

  • Degree: 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any field (120 credits)
  • Required Courses
    • Statistics (3 credits)
    • Physics (3 credits) or Grade 12 physics
    • Human Anatomy (3 credits)
    • Psychology (3 credits)
    • Human Physiology (6 credits)
    • English (3 credits)

GPA

  • Minimum grade of B (72%) is required in every prerequisite course
  • Minimum overall average of B+ (76%) in all 300-400 level courses
  • GPA calculation: All prerequisites + the last 30 credits of university senior level courses

TOEFL and GRE

  • For international applicants
    • TOEFL: PBT 600, CBT 250, IBT 100
    • MELAB: minimum 83 overall
    • IELTS: minimum 7.5 overall with 7.0+ in each component
    • CAEL: minimum 80

Work and Volunteer Experience

  • Minimum of 70 hours of volunteer or paid work involving direct interaction with patients of cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities
  • Completed across no more than 2 facilities

Interview

  • Applicants who meet the above minimum requirements are eligible for interview consideration
  • MMI will test verbal communication skill, maturity and personal suitability
  • The top 160 applicants will be offered an interview
  • The Master of Physical Therapy interviews are in early March. Applicants will be advised of their results in mid to late April.
