Admission Requirements
Course and Degree Requirements
- MSc program
- Bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, physics, chemistry, mathematics/statistics, physical geography, physical oceanography, or environmental science/engineering
- Minimum B+ average in third and fourth year courses or A- (80%) grade average in 12 credits of 3rd/4th years
- PhD program
- Masters degree or equivalent with clear evidence of research potential
- First-class bachelor’s degree with 1 year of MSc studies may be accepted (research potential needed)
- required to complete 12 credits with a first class average during their first year of study: at least 9 credits (500-level or above) and at least 9 credits must be of first class standing
- Students lacking necessary undergraduate preparation may be admitted into a qualifying year program
- Students with an overall A grade average in an honours bachelor’s degree may be accepted directly

GRE
- Not mandatory, but may be submitted with application

- Proof of English Proficiency where applicable
- TOEFL - 100 overall score, 22 in writing, reading and listening, 23 in speaking
- IELTS - 7.0 overall score, 6.5 in writing, reading and listening, 7.0 in speaking
