  • Required Courses:
    • General (Inorganic) chemistry with lab - two semesters
    • Organic chemistry with lab - two semesters
    • Biochemistry - one semester
      • This class should be a complete upper-division course
    • General Biology with lab (diversity, developmental, cell structure) - two semesters
    • Genetics - one semester
    • Microbiology (general or medical) with lab - one semester
    • Physics with lab - two semesters
    • Statistics - one semester
    • English composition - one semester
    • Communication (interpersonal, persuasion, or speech) - one semester
    • Careers in Veterinary Medicine (if available) - one semester
    • Humanities (Foreign languages, cognitive sciences, and social sciences) - three semesters

GPA

  • Average GPA resident: 3.79
  • Average GPA non-resident: 3.65
  • Required courses must be completed with a “C-” grade (1.7 on a 4.0 scale) or better in each course and applicants must maintain a competitive cumulative grade point average
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA (including all course repeats) of no less than 3.00 to receive consideration
