Admission Requirements
General
- Acceptance of the applicant dependent on the recommendation of the proposed supervisor
Academic Requirements
- Honours or four-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Minimum of a B- average for the courses in the same field as the major taken within the last two years of undergraduate studies
- If a student's first language is not English, he or she must supply results of an English language proficiency test to be considered for admission. The minimum scores required are:
- IELTS - 6.5
- MELAB - 80
- Cambridge First Certificate in English - aggregate grade of C or better
- TOEFL - 580 paper-based testing or 237 in computer-based testing or 93 in Internet-based testing.

Financial Requirements
- International applicants must secure at least $18,000 in funding before applying for a student visa
Supporting Documents
- Admission application form
- Processing fee ($50.00 Canadian)
- Transcripts - Two official documents from every post-secondary institution attended (except Acadia)
- Resumé (a chronology of relevant work experience)

Deadlines
- February 1 is the deadline for applicants who wish to be considered for university funding.
- March 15 (or until all available positions are filled)
- TA application: February 1
- Admission Offers: Made by May 31st, preceding the anticipated year of entry.

- Tuition – Canadian Students (for Non Residents of Nova Scotia): $4656.00
- Tuition – Canadian Students (for Qualifying Residents of Nova Scotia): $3634.00
